Fashion wouldn’t be what it is today without basics, which is why I am a firm believer in having an extensive supply of basic shirts in my wardrobe! As much as I love them, I have to be honest and ask if anyone has as much trouble as I do when it comes to styling a basic shirt? It should be easy, but the endless possibilities of options are almost too much to wrap my head around!
Whether I’m looking to put together a casual or going out look, basics are a key element in making my outfits look complete. So, if anyone has as much trouble as I do styling basics, your worry ends here! Check out below for my 3 favorite ways to style basic shirts:
1. With a Vest Everyone loves a good vest and basic shirt combo. Basic shirts can be styled with vests ranging from simple to statement — the choice is yours!
3. Flannel around the waist If you couldn’t already tell from the amount of times I’ve worn this combo, I LOVE flannels! It gives me hot and cold options depending on the weather and adds a much-needed pop of color.
Well, I have started to accumulate a stash of cheap (yet adorable!) pairs over time that I keep on hand for day-to-day occasions. I’ll never hand over my Wildfox‘s, but that doesn’t mean I can’t obsess over these amazing sunglass that are all under $100.
So, are you ready? Your retail therapy starts… NOW!
Cue the wedding bells! A couple of weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to do a wedding-inspired photo shoot with Us Weekly! To let you in on a little secret: It (almost) takes an entire village to put together a photo shoot. But, with Marc Royce behind the camera and my hair and makeup gurus, Brianna Cisneros and Amy Clark, heading the beauty department, I knew I was in good hands!
They pulled out the stops for this shoot (and it paid off!). To give you an idea as to how many people came out to this beautiful mansion in Pasadena, we had a stylist, videographer, photographer, hair and makeup team, caterer, publicity assistants, Us Weekly reporters, and more! Oh, and I can’t forget about my sister Casey (AKA my right hand woman & Maid of Honor), who came along and took some behind the scenes pics! You can even check out a video of Casey and I talking wedding dresses on UsWeekly.com.
By end of the day, I could tell that my pregnancy definitely took a toll on my energy levels throughout the shoot. I just don’t have as much energy as I normally do! I was ready to nap after 5 hours, but a few breaks here and there did the trick, and I was able to power through the day.
I would like to give a huge shout out to Us Weekly and Marc Royce for these incredible shots! I previously shot with Marc during my Hills days, so I was very happy to reunite for a familiar face and couldn’t be happier with the results!
